spindrift:

you’re an angel when you
sleep, my little muse,
like a baby sheep.
i want to kiss your cheeks,
run my hands up your back.
i can’t help but smile.
i wish you stayed this innocent when
you wake, but the demons
of the daytime make their way to you.
so for now, i watch you dream,
hoping i’m in your thoughts and wishes.
those demons inside couldn’t keep away
my kisses.
